Our story

A lifetime of care.
A shared purpose.

Joyce Angulo Foundation is a community-based organisation serving Lira City, Northern Uganda.

Inspired by Joyce Angulo

Joyce Angulo is a retired registered nurse whose life and career have been dedicated to caring for vulnerable women, children, girls, persons with disabilities, and older people. She witnessed the effects of domestic violence, poverty, war, and exclusion on families.

As a single mother, she invested in her children’s education while mentoring women and girls in healthcare. The Foundation carries that spirit of service into community-based support.

Our mission

To provide comprehensive support through healthcare support, counselling, educational opportunities, life skills, mentorship, advocacy, and community-based care; and to promote the rights, dignity, wellbeing, and participation of vulnerable people.

Our vision

Safe, supportive, and self-reliant communities where vulnerable people can live with dignity, hope, and opportunity, and older people receive respect, care, and equal opportunities.

The people behind the purpose

Community-led. Personally committed.
